Item Details
- Industrial-grade wire-conditioning component designed to remove structural cast and helix memory from continuous welding wires. It functions as a mechanism in high-volume, automated submerged arc welding (SAW) and gas metal arc welding (GMAW) processes to transform physical inconsistencies of large-diameter welding wire into a controlled, linearly stable constant prior to entering the torch contact tip.
Features
- Three-roll wire straightener with adjustable pressure
- Neutralizes radial curvature (cast) and axial twist (helix) induced during spooling or payoff pack storage
- Minimizes contact tip keyholing by preventing uneven internal tip abrasion
- Stabilizes electrical stick-out to maintain steady electrical conductivity and arc voltage
- Enhances arc location precision for long-seam automated deep welds
- Adjustable pressure knob allows for calibration of straightening forces to prevent crushing of tubular flux-cored wires
- Direct bolt-on integration into automated wire feed paths
- Hardened tool steel rollers treated for wear resistance against raw steel and abrasive wire finishes
