Coreshield® 6, which is ideal for welding in the flat and horizontal positions, joins another recent addition to ESAB's cored wire line-up, Coreshield® 8. While Coreshield® 8 exhibits the same welder-friendly characteristics as Coreshield® 6 - and meets FEMA's seismic toughness requirements - it is designed for all-position welding. Because these wires are self-shielding, they are also easier to use for applications in the field including retrofit work.

Coreshield® 6 is a high productivity, high deposition gasless flux cored wire.
This self-shielded wire is ideal for single or multiple pass weld applications in addition to providing high deposition rates, low spatter, and good penetration.
Because of its stiffer weld puddle, Coreshield® 6 offers exceptional multi-pass weld stacking characteristics, produces excellent bead appearance and X-ray quality weld deposits.
Coreshield® 6 is run DCEP (electrode positive).
