- Stoody® BTS Bare Hard Facing Gas Welding Rod measuring 1/4" Dia X 6" is a bare tubular rod for oxy-fuel applications that is ideal for metal-to-metal wear and earth abrasion. It can be applied to carbon, low alloy, manganese steels and is suitable for places where thin deposits are required. It finds application in welding cultivator discs, bird machine screws, plowshares, conveyor/classifier flights, sand chutes, subsoiler blades, sweeps and chisel points.
Features
- Use 20 to 40 drill-size tip, use excess acetylene feather 3x length of inner cone
- Clean rust, scale and dirt from part
- Heat part to -œsweating- temperature and apply with minimum dilution
- A minimum deposit thickness of 1/16- is recommended
- Deposits are not forgeable or machinable, magnetic on carbon and alloy steels
