- IRWIN® Hanson® High Carbon Steel Taper Tap with 4 flutes has a thread size of 3/8" - 16 NC and is designed for hand threading work. It has straight flutes that are ground to offer rapid chip removal for effective threading. Tap produce a class 2B thread and is perfect for routine maintenance, repair work and rethreading.
