  • Honeywell UOP Molecular Sieves* are synthetically produced, crystalline metal aluminosilicates that have been activated for adsorption by removing their water of hydration. Unlike other adsorbents, Molecular Sieves have a precise uniform size and molecular dimension. Molecular Sieve Type 3A-AP, activated powder adsorbent is the sodium potassium form of the Type A crystal structure. An alkali metal aluminosilicate, 3A-AP adsorbs molecules with critical diameters up to 3 Angstrom. *Airgas repackages and markets Molecular Sieves manufactured by Honeywell UOP. Applications

  • 3A molecular sieve powder is used for water scavenging in moisture-sensitive urethane formulations, such as closed cell foams, coatings, adhesives, sealants, and elastomers.
  • High concentrations of 3A-AP adsorbent (greater than 50 wt.-%) can also be used for end-use desiccating in insulated glass matrix formulations.
  • This adsorbent has the lowest air and solvent capacity, making it ideal for selective removal of water.
